Thanks, the week and report card options

Howdy all. Yes, I am back. Thanks for the kind emails. It's nice to know that a community can rally in times of need. My Grandma is home from the hospital. The stroke, thankfully, was actually a series of palpitations. We were able to get her home on Wednesday and arrange for a nurse and physical therapist to work with her and my grandfather twice a week. I'll keep you updated.

The note from the sub was gracious and complimentary of the kids. They did a great job in my absence, and for that I am grateful.

The Orange Folders that went home today have lots of goodies from the school. A quick overview of the notices will clue you in to the Jogging for the Arts, tomorrow's picture retakes and the See's Candies Fundraiser. There is also a new lunch menu and Reading Log (due Friday the 14th).

Our classroom representatives election will be held tomorrow. The speeches the kids submitted were sincere and thoughtful. I will post the results here tomorrow. Don't forget to vote tomorrow as well; the polls will be open from 7am to 8pm.

The kids were assigned their respective missions for our reports today. We'll be working on them over the next few weeks in class, completing them prior to the Winter Break.

This is the final week of the first grading trimester. I will be compiling grades over the weekend and completing report cards at that time. I cannot accept work from this grading period after Friday. Also, I am completing report cards electronically this year. Therefore, I will offer the option of emailing report cards directly to families, or printing them and sending them home with the kids. The choice is yours, but if I don't hear from folks I will be emailing them to save on paper.

The kids are responsible for the following tonight:

-Reading Log
-Reading Practice book pages 136 & 137 (this week's spelling words can be found on these pages, as well as page 415
-Math lesson 42, pages 197 - 198 (all)

Respectfully, Mr. Bryant
