Wednesday & Thursday

Howdy all, and thanks for checking in. We are back into the swing things after our treat of day in San Francisco yesterday. I'll keep things brief.

Tomorrow morning brings our first meeting with Literature Circles this year. The kids have been working with their respective roles since Monday, so they should be more than prepared for their parts Thursday morning as they meet with their peer groups. Assignments are varied, which is why I have not listed them here previously.

I'll be here tomorrow in the AM, but will be working at Aptos High from 11am on. If you need to reach me, please do so in the morning. If not, I will be checking emails after school. Mrs. Abelar will be here in my absence.

The kids are responsible for the following tonight (both grade levels the same):

- Saxon 32 (all)
- Nature Log observation (Creepy crawly of their choosing: insect, arachnid, annelid or reptile). Nature Logs must return to school tomorrow, as the kids will be doing research in the afternoon.
- Complete Literature Circle role and bring materials to class in the morning.
- Continue with spelling or vocabulary for the week.

Respectfully, Mr. Bryant

A Million Thanks...

Howdy, and thanks for checking in. I just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone for making today a reality. From the bus, to the exhibit, to your children...everything was wonderful. I am still putting together a website that will facilitate our classroom photos, as I am eager for you to share in the experiences we have during the course of the year.

Please reference yesterday's blog for homework information, as it has not changed.

Respectfully, Mr. Bryant

Monday, Thanks and Tuesday's Trip

Howdy all, and thanks much for checking in. I wanted to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone for taking time out of their very busy days last week to attend your child's conference. It was great to sit with everyone and discuss your child's strengths. We have a truly wonderful class!

Tomorrow brings our trip to the deYoung Museum. We are leaving school promptly at 8, and I would very much appreciate folks being in the classroom no later than 7:45. If you are coming along with us, please park in the neighborhood and walk to campus with your child. Please do not attempt to park in the school lot, as it will be full of buses and parents dropping off their children. It is necessary for all those attending tomorrow to bring a snack and sack lunch. Also, please note that we are not returning to campus until 3:30 or 4. Children who normally take the bus home will be asked to stay on campus and take the After School Program buses home. Magic Apple children will need to arrange for transportation to their campus, or children can stay here at school with me until 5 (when they can be picked up by a parent). It is going to be a long, fun-filled day tomorrow. Thanks again for pitching in to cover the expense of the charter bus. This is sure to be a memorable, educating experience.

Homework for tonight and tomorrow is being combined here.
