Happy Thursday! We are keeping HW light tonight. Students are responisble for the following work:
- Math lesson 68 (11 - 30)
- Reading Log
We began our studies of biomes yesterday and have been diligently working to produce study guides. We havew covered the deciduous forest as well as tropical rainforests thus far. We'll be looking at the desert on Friday.
Friday will bring us to our first day of Mission report work. These reports will be researched, planned and written in class. Students are not required to build a model of a mission. We will be working on the daily and plan on completing them by the month's end to coincide with our trip to San Juan Bautista.

Wednesday's HW & other goodies
Homework for this evening is as follows:
- Math lesson 67 (1-20)
- reading practice book pp. 198 & 199
- reading log
- finish rainforest notes (If not completed)
We've begun studying biomes and the students constructed blue study guides and notebooks today. While we do cover a good amount of material in class, there is not always time for each student to copy down everything that we cover. Students may need to do additional research at home to complete their notes. Information on the biomes we are looking at can be found in their science books, as well as www.enchantedlearning.com.
Red folders were sent home today with book order forms and permission slips for our January 29th trip to Mission San Juan Bautista. Permission slips need to be accompanied by $1 when returned to class (the sooner the better). Parents who would like to tag along are more than welcome to and are free! Book order form should be returned by the end of next week, Friday, January 26th.

Tuesday's homework & welcome back
Oh folks, I hope that holidays treated you all very well. I am nursing another flu and am dog-tired. I was not able to run copies of materials that I needed to send home today, so I will send red folders home on Wednesday. The class is more than excited to be back in the classroom and were a rowdy bunch today. Hopefully as we segue back into our routine that respect levels will rise. Hopeful, I know.
