Thursday's HW & stuff

Howdy all, students are responsible for the following work tonight:

- Reading Log (due tomorrow, signed by parent)
- Reading Practice book pages 244 & 245 (practice books will be collected on Friday for grading)
- Math 15A (Math 14A & B were an absolute wash. They were the lowest overall average of any math test this year. The material covered on the tests were not new, but rather review. Students are welcome to and encourged to use their math books to help them complete their take home tests. We are reviewing each pretest in class prior to taking the in-class test.)

Mission reports are still moving along. We have, for the most part, compiled our rough drafts. Students who have not used their class time wisely will be sent home with templates and their notes on Friday in an effort to catch up with the rest of the class.

Respectfully. Mr. B

Wednesday's HW & tomorrow

Students are responsible for the following work tonight:

-Reading Log (due Friday)
-Rocky Shore identification sheet
-Math Lesson 78 (1 - 15)
-Reading Practice Book pages 235 - 237

We have been deep in study with our ocean biomes. spending a good deal of time on the shoreline. Today we crafted clay rocky shore animals and will test their durability against waves tomorrow. We will also be graphing tides. While it was my original intention to quiz on the water biomes this week, the students have been really into this unit and I have no issue going deeper with the content for them.

Friday will bring a "People of Sparks" quiz, a spelling quiz and a math quiz.

Respectfully, Mr. B

Happy Monday

Howdy all. I think that we had the most well-behaved school day of the year and I am genuinely excited! We had a very nice class meeting on Friday discussing what we had accomplished as a class thus far for the year and what we still needed to accomplish with the few months we have left together. It's nice to see ideas sink in and take hold.

We had our in-class spelling bee today to see who would represent the room at Friday's all-school spelling bee. I am happy to report that Liza and Patrick will put their best foot forward for us on Friday.

The school's student leadership team has decided to have another spirit day on Valentine's Day. Students are encouraged to wear red and may do the whole cray hair thing. Valentine's Day falls on a restructured Wednesday, so I am not planning a party. However, we will have a card exchange at the end of the day.

Finally, students are responsible for the following work tonight:
- Reading Log
- Math lesson 76 (11-30)
- Reading Practice book pages 239-240 (spelling words for the week are included on these pages).

More news tomorrow, Mr. B
