Thursday & Friday

Howdy all, and thanks for checking in. The trip to Ano Nuevo was amazing! The weather was on our side, and we were treated to a groovy time. The animals were pretty sedate, but we were able to take in come amazing sights all the same. The sight of an osprey gliding by with a freshly caught fish in it's claws was stunning. As we were walking out, the little green guy above hopped across our very wet path. I am posting pics to the Shutterfly site shortly.
Thanks again to our wonderful parents who helped make the day a fun and safe one. Tiffany, Alisa, Nancy, Megan, Linda, Brandon, Tony and Steve...endless gratitude is making its way to you. We are all very grateful.

Friday brings the very last day of the second grading period. All work must be turned in by the end of the school day tomorrow in order to be counted.

Friday also brings us Jogging for the Arts. And pledges collected / gathered can be brought to school tomorrow. I am not sure of our exact running time, but the kids always seem to have good time!

Tonight the kids are responsible for the following:

- reading log (due Friday)
- Reflections vocabulary and sentences are due Friday as well. There is a short quiz on their definitions.

Respectfully, Mr. Bryant

Wednesday & the field trip

Howdy all, and thanks for checking. I'll be sending out a voice-mail to the families informing everyone of the details regarding tomorrow's trip, but here are the main points to keep in mind:

1.) We're leaving @ 8:15 and returning between 1:30 - 2
2.) Everyone needs to dress in layers. Hats are encouraged. Students may not wear shorts. If students have them, I would strongly suggest wearing water-proof shoes / boots, etc. It is not a sandal day. The trails will be extremely wet and muddy coming off of days of rain.
3.) Everyone needs to bring a bag lunch. We'll be having a snack in the parking lot of the park when we arrive, but will not be eating until near 12:30 or 1.
4.) Cameras are welcome, but umbrellas are not.
5.) We are going regardless of the weather. Thankfully, it is only supposed to be overcast tomorrow.

Tonight, the kids are responsible for the following:

- reading log
- math 18.1
- reading practice book page 300
- continue studying for Friday's vocabulary quiz

Also, I let the kids know again today that Friday is the last day that I can accept work to be applied toward this grading period.

Respectfully, Mr. Bryant

Monday & Tuesday

Howdy all, and thanks for checking in. The symphony was awesome today! A great round of applause and gratitude to the parents who helped out us and made the day possible:
Megan, Christine, Jennifer, Tami, Melina, Nancy and Brenda! I'll upload some pictures to our Shutterfly site tomorrow. The kids really enjoyed themselves and were extremely respectful of the performers and venue. A great morning!

If you are a driver / chaperone for Thursday's Ano Nuevo trip, would you please be kind enough to send me an email with the number of passengers you are able to accommodate. It's a long drive, and I want to get groups organized by compatibility! Your help is much appreciated in this matter. (If a number is next to your name on the blog, please disregard.)

The kids are responsible for the following tonight:

- blue folders (info on Jugging for the Arts, the Event and Scholastic book orders)
- reading log
- reading practice book pages 295, 296 & 297
- continue studying for Friday's vocabulary quiz

Also, I will be out tomorrow with a doctor's appt! Mrs. Abelar will be here in my place. The homework tomorrow includes the following:

- reading log
- nature log entry
- math 17.6
- reading practice book page 291

Respectfully, Mr. Bryant
