1.) tomorrow brings both a math and spelling quiz for each grades
2.) if you've not turned in school forms (ie emergency card, PE consent, computer agreement, etc.), please do so ASAP.
3.) we are need of drivers / chaperones for our aquarium trip on Sept. 14th. If you're available, please drop me an email.
4.) please check out our book wish list on Amazon.com. We can be found under "Bryant Lucky 13".
5.) kids must have their sketchbook in class tomorrow for our artist study on Cezanne.

Wednesday
Howdy all, and thanks for checking in. We had a very full day, despite our short time together. We dove deeper into the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler, looked at the life and impact of John Muir on conservation and preservation, and even had time to review some math concepts.
If the kids have not purchased their sketch books yet, we will be using them in class this Friday as we explore the art of Paul Cezanne.
The class is responsible for the following tonight:
- Saxon 9 (both grades)
- nature log entry and sketch
- continuing studying for Friday's spelling quiz
- please ensure that school paperwork and Monday Folders are returned to class ASAP.

Tuesday
Howdy all, and thanks for checking in. We are having a very nice week together. The kids are more than excited about our classroom job / banking system that has been put into place. It is groovy to see kids actively working toward improving their monthly classroom income by helping around the campus during their recesses and lunches. Be sure to ask your kids about their bank accounts and jobs! First paychecks go out on Sept. 30, and rent is due on October 1. Our monthly auction will be held on October 1 as well, and will be featuring some much sought-after goodies.

our second week...
Howdy all, and thanks for checking in. The Monday Folders are full of goodies today. Please take a few moments of your precious time to ensure that following forms are correctly filled out and returned to school ASAP:
- Yellow Student Information Card
- PE Consent Form from Ms. Manion
- Monterey Bay Aquarium Field Trip Permission Slip (Yes, we will need drivers and chaperones. If you'd like to come along, please drop me an email with the number of students your car can accommodate. Drivers will need to have insurance information on file with the school office as well.)
- Classroom Volunteer Survey ($ donations are welcome and much appreciated!)
- Accelerated Reader (AR) Goals for this trimester are included in the folder as well. They are for your knowledge, and DO NOT need to be returned to school.
I will be making myself available on Thursday's after school to help the class with homework. I will be in the classroom from 2:30 - 3:30 for kids who need extra help or want to check in on their progress.
Unfortunately, I will be difficult to reach on Monday's, as I will be leaving shortly after school for my classes at SJSU. I would ask that families e-mail me with concerns, questions, etc. I will make a valiant effort to get back to you in a timely manner.
