Tuesday, and the week

Howdy Room 13, and thanks for checking in.  The week is off to a wet start, but we were only seeing gold!  Our gold rush simulation officially kicked off today, and our seven mining teams will be seeking their fortunes in the next couple of weeks.  Wednesday sees the teams choosing their route to riches, while Thursday will have the teams prospecting.  This is one of my favorite units to work with during the course of year and your kids will walk away from the adventure all the wiser (and actually liking history)!
Tomorrow brings us our chapter 19 math quiz.  We have worked diligently these past few weeks really cementing our understanding of fraction and decimal relations.  I have my fingers crossed for some positive results.
Friday brings our land biome quiz.  I sincerely hope that the kids are choosing to study this week, as the test is a doozy.  I will be offering up three questions for each biome we covered, as well as a few extra credit opportunities.  As a friendly reminder, I will be collecting study guides for grading prior to the exam.
With these short weeks I have held off on sending home red folders.  I did send home a homework sheet with the kids today, as well as two notices from the school regarding the See's Candies fundraiser and the upcoming auction.  We'll resume our regular schedule next week.

Today, the kids are responsible for the following:

- 20 minutes DEAR
- RPB pp 376 & 377
- Joe Trella, Fraction Fella math
- study for land biome quiz

Respectfully, Mr. Bryant
