a very long blog about the week

Howdy all. I'm sorry about the novella you are about to be subjected to, but it must be done.

First, we have nearly as many drivers as we do students for Wednesday's trip to the Register-Pajaronian. I am always excited to have parents along for field trips, but we will need to consolidate drivers as much as possible. It looks like there will be a minimum of two parents per car. The following gracious individuals have volunteered their time and energy:

Yolanda +6, Sandra +4, Susan M. +5, Linda +6, Erika +5, Leina'ala +5, Marlene +3, Greg + 5, Lisa +6, Veronica +6, and Alicia +6.
We will be leaving school at 9 and returning around 11. Students do not need to pack a bag lunch, as we will be back in time for lunch. Good times.

The first parent GATE meeting of the year will be held in the cafeteria this Wednesday evening. Those of you who inquired about the program are encouraged to attend. Invitations were sent home in today's Green Folders.

Jogging for the Arts is happening this Friday. Again, forms and information are in today's Green Folders.

Friday is the last day to submit Scholastic book orders.

This Friday is also the last day of the first grading trimester. All student work that is needing to be made up must be submitted by Thursday morning in order to count toward this report card. Report cards themselves will go home a week from Friday.

Speaking of next week, I will be out of the classroom Tuesday through Friday working on our current California Distinguished School application with Mrs. Dorney. I can be reached on campus should the need arise and will check in with the classroom each day. Ms. Landmann will be here in my place and the kids are already excited to have her! The kids will begin work on their mission reports next week, working in a similar fashion to what was done with their ocean animal reports.

Finally, students are responsible for the following work tonight:

-math lesson 43 (all)
-cursive packet, letter 'N'
-Reflections vocabulary (quiz on Friday)
-reading log

Respectfully, Mr. B
