Howdy all. Mission research and writing is underway. Again, the majority of this work will take place in class, so please don't fret if you don't see it coming home that often. We also have a very lively science experiment underway as students attempt to make a lightbulb light with a wire, a battery, and a bulb. Very aggrivating for some, but thrilling all the same.
Students are responsible for the following work tonight:
-Reading Log
-Math lesson 52, problems 1-15
-Venn diagram of two items, people, pets from home. Kid's choice!
-Reading practice book pages 178-179
-Cursive packet, letter S

Our SPECTRA artist-in-residence begins working with us this Friday. And, the 6th graders are gone all week at science camp....it's very quiet around here ( I wish!).

-Reading Practice Book pages 181 -183 (We have spelling words this week!)

insert ominous music and evil laughter here......REPORT CARDS!
Howdy all. Yes, the time is here and report cards are following your children home today. I'll take a quick moment to note that I am extremely impressed with the overall effort of this year's class. The children have made such strides since the beginning of the school year, and the end result for this trimester is awesome. The majority of you will be very happy with report cards. I'm not one to taut the whole Honor Roll thingy, but we have 16 students on the Principal's List (all As) and Honor Roll (all As & Bs). For those of you who are unhappy with your child's report card, please remember that this is just the first of three report periods for the school year and there is ample time for improvements and efforts to amp up. I know that the pace and content of the fourth grade is often a shock, but it would appear that the kids are adjusting, for the most part, with ease. Things only get harder as the year progresses, so please continue to support your kids with their efforts whenever possible.
Students are responsible for the following work tonight:
-Reading Log (due Friday)
-Library books due Friday
-math lesson 48 (1-20)
-Scary Stories should be turned in on Friday as well.
Have a wonderful and relaxing week off. Take time to enjoy each other's company and eat some good grub.
Respectfully, Mr. B
