FOR MONDAY'S MISSIONS & TUESDAY'S BIOME TEST / FIELDTRIP

Howdy all. Please remember that completed mission reports are due on Monday. Each paragraph needs to be written on a separate piece of paper, and we will assemble them with the other work we have completed. Students may be bringing home mission maps or artwork to complete over the weekend as well.

Students were encouraged to take thier biome study guides home to review this weekend. Our cummulative biome test will be on Tuesday before we leave for the symphony. Biomes and ecosystems studied include the following: tundra, taiga, deciduous forest, prairie (grasslands), desert, tropical rainforest, salt water, estuaries and fresh water. Students will have access to their study guides for this exam, but not their textbooks.

**I now have room for one additional parent to accompany us to the symphony. If you are interested, I'll offer the ticket to the first person that requests it.**

Have a great weekend, Mr. B

Thursday and a medical alert!

Ok, some good news and some funky news...

Funky news first. I sent home "exposure notices" with each student today to acknowledge that the class was exposed to a classmate with pink eye on Wednesday the 21st. Hopefully it doesn't go any further than it already has.

Mission final drafts are still due on Monday. Students should include only one paragraph per page. We worked on art and maps in class today and will complete our bibliographies tomorrow, with a dedication page and table of contents page completed on Monday.

Water ecosystem test went well today. We reviewed them in class and you will see them in Monday's folders. Tuesday will bring us our biome final test prior to our trip to the Mello Center for the symphony.

Students are responsible for the following work tonight:
- Reading Log (due tomorrow)
- Math 16A

Respectfully. Mr. B

Wednesday's HW

Howdy all! Students are responsible for the following work tonight:

-Reading Log
-Reading Practice Book pages 274 & 275 (started in class)
-Math lesson 85 (11 - 24)
-Biomes Packet pages WB 55 & 56 (started in class) PLEASE REMEMBER THAT THURSDAY BRINGS US A WATER BIOME QUIZ!

-continue prepping final draft of mission reports for next Monday. Please remember that each paragraph needs to be written on separate pieces of paper.

Also, as many of you noticed, I did not send home Red Folders yesterday for the simple fact that I had nothing to send home. I spent my weekend going over mission report rough drafts, and will get caught up with the grading of other student work this week. No worries, you will see the folders sent home next Monday.

Respectfully, Mr. B

Tuesday's HW & news on the week

Students are responsible for the following work tonight:

-Math lesson 84 (p. 393, a - j & 394, 1-10)
-Reading Practice book page 265
-Reading Log

Students were handed back their Mission Report rough drafts today with suggestions for revisions. The rough effort was good, but I am expecting final drafts to be great. I am giving the class until next Monday to rewrite their work. They are to write only one paragraph per page. We began work on our disenos today and will complete our bibliographies, table of contents and title page as we assemble the reports next Monday.

Thursday brings a guest speaker from the Santa Cruz Symphony. A flutist will introduce the class to material that we will hear on next week's trip.

Thursday also brings us a quiz on water biomes. We finished our last biome this afternoon and will review material on Wednesday. Students will not be able to use their study guides for this quiz, but can use it for next week's land & water biome test.

Thursday will see a math pretest making its way home. Students can expect an in-class test on Friday.

Finally, yearbook order forms are due no later than Friday (if you want to pay the $15.)

peace out, Mr. B
